I have been missing in action, health has not been good, and I didn't get a very good report at my last diabetes clinic, Dr not happy, so will have to pull up my socks and see what I can do, mainly more exercise, so much more walking etc will be happening.
Plenty of birthdays have been happening in our family, 3 sons, 2 SILs, 1DIL, 3 grandies, and mine, plus it is our anniversay this Fri, 38 years, wow.
I am so far behind with the families gifts, making them but will catch up in the next week or 2, and this weekend 1 of my little grandson's is being christened, so today I am washing the christening gown and making the chocolate mud cake for the christening cake, just have to check how many guests so that I make a large enough one. we have already made a lot of the finger food, just dips to make on the day.
We have been doing more work on our home, these past few weekends, still a long way to go but getting there.
My garden has been reasonably productive, we are picking silverbeet, self sown carrots, beetroot is ready and I have a lot of onions planted as well as leeks and some cabbages, cauliflowers etc.
We still have kumera (orange sweet potato) that is under a plastic house to harvest. earlier we harvested 3 wheatbags full of potatoes. We are also picking rhubarb yummo.
My sewing lurgy seems to be continuing, unfortunately, but I have been doing some knitting, dishcloths, for pressies, swaps, and for me, and beanies for the men's birthday pressies. I have also been doing a little bit of stitchery, but have yet to get anything finished in that area.
I still have to work out how to down load photos, so that I can share things of interest, with you.
Rhonda Jean on her blog, the last few days has been talking about her budget, and how they are coping and what they will be doing to address this problem caused by the ever rising costs of petrol/fuel, which is then flowing on with the ever increasing costs of food. Interesting reading and the comments are also of interest.
We will be refining our budget over the next few weeks, so that could be interesting, as we still need to purchase quite a few things to finish our home.
In to days posts she listed things that she is thankful for, so here are some of mineMy husband,
