I have been missing in action, health has not been good, and I didn't get a very good report at my last diabetes clinic, Dr not happy, so will have to pull up my socks and see what I can do, mainly more exercise, so much more walking etc will be happening.
Plenty of birthdays have been happening in our family, 3 sons, 2 SILs, 1DIL, 3 grandies, and mine, plus it is our anniversay this Fri, 38 years, wow.
I am so far behind with the families gifts, making them but will catch up in the next week or 2, and this weekend 1 of my little grandson's is being christened, so today I am washing the christening gown and making the chocolate mud cake for the christening cake, just have to check how many guests so that I make a large enough one. we have already made a lot of the finger food, just dips to make on the day.
We have been doing more work on our home, these past few weekends, still a long way to go but getting there.
My garden has been reasonably productive, we are picking silverbeet, self sown carrots, beetroot is ready and I have a lot of onions planted as well as leeks and some cabbages, cauliflowers etc.
We still have kumera (orange sweet potato) that is under a plastic house to harvest. earlier we harvested 3 wheatbags full of potatoes. We are also picking rhubarb yummo.
My sewing lurgy seems to be continuing, unfortunately, but I have been doing some knitting, dishcloths, for pressies, swaps, and for me, and beanies for the men's birthday pressies. I have also been doing a little bit of stitchery, but have yet to get anything finished in that area.
I still have to work out how to down load photos, so that I can share things of interest, with you.
Rhonda Jean on her blog, the last few days has been talking about her budget, and how they are coping and what they will be doing to address this problem caused by the ever rising costs of petrol/fuel, which is then flowing on with the ever increasing costs of food. Interesting reading and the comments are also of interest.
We will be refining our budget over the next few weeks, so that could be interesting, as we still need to purchase quite a few things to finish our home.
In to days posts she listed things that she is thankful for, so here are some of mineMy husband,
My childrenTheir husbands/wives
Our beautiful grandchildren
Our home
Our garden
our acres
our sheep - who provide us with lamb to eat
our chooks (chickens), who provide us with eggs and meat
our cows, whose calves we sell to help cover costs,
our lives together
friends
blogssewing, quilts etc
and to many more
Oh what a long rambling post, I think that I do tend to waffle
Oh and I also need to learn how to link? blogs
Thank you to the first people to comment on my blog and I hope to see you back here again
Cheers

I loved how Rhonda Jean did a thankful post. I love to go in Thankful Thursdays, if you search you may find it on the net.
I like irfanview and have a photobucket account. I put in 650 and 200 at the bottom for my photos for resizing. I think irfanview is free to download from the net.

Hello Chookasmum...
Found you via Chookyblue...she has been a big help to me and many others. I am fairly new to this thing too. It takes a little while but you will get the hang of it.
The best people are bloggers!!
Welcoma and hope to see you back soon
Take care
Welcome to blogland, a lot of us are fairly new, and from personal experience, I can assure you that we are all interested in your accomplishments and trials and will be there to cheer you on and enjoy what you share. I hope that your health improves, and that next time you go the doctor is happier. I enjoyed your list of things you are thankful for. Living in a subdivision on 1/3 acre, I can't personally relate to some of it, but I enjoy reading about your life, and many of the things you are thankful for are the same things that I am thankful for all these thousands of miles away.
I haven't seen it posted, so here is the short version of putting links into your posts (a version of this works for sidebars and such, but this is for your posts, okay?).
You need to have the web address of where you want to link to, such as http://chookasmum.blogspot.com. You do need the http:// part.
While you're typing your paragraph, you can insert the link like this:
blah-blah {a href="http://chookasmum.blogspot.com"}My Blog{/a} blah-blah
Replace the { and } with < and > and you're ready to go! The quotation marks are important, as is that little ending /a part.
This is what you'll end up with - a clickable My Blog
It is always good to be thankful. And also to hug your special people everyday.
I'm blog-hopping my way through Chookyblue's SSCS list to see who else is playing.
Very funny!!
